Murray State Student Dies in Vehicle Collision

A Murray State University student died and another was injured in a vehicle collision Friday night. 

WDRB reports the incident occurred on the Western Kentucky Parkway near White Mills.

 

Driver 50-year-old Arshaud Hussain and passenger 41-year-old Zartash Gul were traveling westbound when they crossed the median and crashed head-on to eastbound driver 18-year-old William "Liam" Coursey and passenger 18-year-old Brooke Phillips. The vehicle overturned. Phillips was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

 

 

According to Murray State, Phillips was a freshman from Slaughters studying psychology. Coursey suffered significant injuries and remains hospitalized in Louisville. Hussain and Gil are also hospitalized.
