Murray State’s Office of Multicultural Affairs and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity are co-hosting the university’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast and Day of Service on Monday.

Alpha Phi Alpha President TevinCrumble says Martin Luther King, Jr. was a brother of Alpha Phi Alpha and he feels a responsibility to continue his legacy. Crumble says this year’s event features the theme of unity and inclusion.

“To show that we all are here to work together in light of, in recent events of what has happened this past year. To show that there’s still hope, we still can work together, if we just get everyone to remember what Brother Martin Luther King has done.”

The breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m. is free and open to the public. A community project following the breakfast involves collecting toiletries and nonperishable items for donation.
