Murray State President Bob Davies is responding to federal announcements regarding Title IX and DACA.
Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos said this month that the Department of Education is changing Title IX policies that address campus sexual assault.
Davies said in a statement Monday these changes will not prevent the university from maintaining a “safe and secure campus environment.” Davies said of Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ DACA recession, Murray State will “continue to serve all students, from all backgrounds…” Davies said he hopes Congress provides a long-term solution for DACA recipients to earn university degrees. Davies asked that university faculty and students take heed that “we are all in this as one University, one community, one family.”
Devos has said the accused are often denied due process and some sexual harassment codes trample free speech rights.
