Murray State Police Officer Arrested, Charged With Sexual Abuse

Murray State University Police Officer Mark Johnson was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Sexual Abuse.

A Murray State University police officer was arrested on Thursday and charged with First-Degree Sexual Abuse, a Class “D” Felony. 

Kentucky State Police said 39-year-old Mark Johnson of Murray is lodged in the Calloway County Jail and has been placed under administrative leave in the department.

KSP said they received a complaint on July 18 of an incident involving a 24-year-old female and began their investigation. Their investigation resulted in obtaining an arrest warrant. Johnson was arrested without incident.

An investigation is continuing.

First-degree sexual abuse is punishable in Kentucky by imprisonment between one and five years.
