Murray State to Dedicate Two Spaces in the New Engineering and Physics Building

Murray State University Public Relations

Murray State University is dedicating two spaces on campus on Friday in the new Engineering and Physics Building.

The ‘Dr. Gary W. Boggess Science Resource Center’ will house computer stations, study areas and a conference room. Boggess served as the dean of MSU’s College of Science for more than 20 years. His work also led to the creation of the Science Resource Center in the Blackburn Science Building.

A two-story, brick walkway connecting the new building to Jones Hall will be named the ‘Timothy D. Jones Gateway.’ The Murray native is son of Dr. Jesse D. Jones who was recently named an MSU Distinguished Alumni for his contributions to the university and the chemistry and pharmaceuticals industries. Timothy Jones has a career with Valero Energy in New Orleans.

Both namings are made through donations from Dr. Jesse D. Jones.

The dedication is at 3 p.m.

Matt Markgraf joined the WKMS team as a student in January 2007. He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011. Prior to that, he was a graduate and undergraduate assistant. He is currently the host of the international music show Imported on Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
