The Murray High School boys basketball team’s bid for a state championship has fallen short.
The Tigers lost Friday at Lexington’s Rupp Arena to Newport Central Catholic 54-75 in the Sweet Sixteen’s quarterfinals.
According to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, Murray set a school record this year with 30 wins and made it to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in more than 30 years.
