The Murray-Calloway County United Way will see several changes in leadership in the new year.
The organization’s board of directors voted this week against renewing Executive Director Trey Smith’s contract.
“We have appreciated Trey’s service to our organization and commend his passion and energy for helping others,” said Bernot, “We wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”
The board will search for a new executive director over the next few weeks and hopes to have a strategy in place for the new year.
The board also approved nine new board members to begin serving in January 2015 including Justin Hendrick, Rick Bray, Rick Dye, Blade Townley, Kala Chakradhar, Erik DeShea Fennell, S.G. Carthell, Susan Wilson and Kim Malone.
Outgoing County Sheriff Bill Marcum will succeed current board president Tina Bernot as her two-year term ends in December along with five other board members. According to the organization’s bylaws, board members may serve up to two 3-year terms.
