Governor Bevin has declared March 19 through 25 as “Water Week in Kentucky” to show how each member of the Commonwealth is impacted by water in their daily lives and to connect water health to quality of life for each Kentucky citizen.
As part of this celebration, the Watershed Studies Institute at Murray State University, the City of Murray, and the Jackson Purchase Foundation will co-host the first annual Four Rivers Watershed Sustainability Summit.
Seminars have been scheduled throughout the event, and will include information on water related projects throughout the Four Rivers Region, including the science behind water quality and its effects on aquatic life and regional watershed management projects. Educational booths and demonstrations will include information about different activities that citizens can do to improve and protect our water resources. Lunch will be available at the event for a small fee. Registration is requested, but not required.
The event is scheduled from 8 am to 3 pm March 27, 2017 in the Small Ballroom of the Curris Center at Murray State University.
