MSU Homecoming to Celebrate 1986 OVC Champion Team with Coach Frank Beamer

Murray State Racer Athletics, via Facebook

Murray State University’s football Homecoming is this weekend as the 2-5 Racers face Tennessee State Saturday at Roy Stewart Stadium.

Festivities kick off Saturday morning with the Homecoming parade running from 9:30 until 11 a.m., with grand marshals former MSU President Dr. Tim Miller and wife, Patsy.

Tent City will be active at the stadium from 11 a.m. to 2:30. The Murray State Alumni Association will have a tent featuring free chili and a photo booth with opportunities to have pictures taken with former Murray State and Virginia Tech football coach Frank Beamer, MSU basketball coach Matt McMahon and more. Beamer, who was inducted into the Ohio Valley Conference Hall of Fame earlier this year, was the coach of the 1986 OVC Champion Racer squad. That team's 30th anniversary will be observed over the course of the day.

The Homecoming king and queen will be crowned at 2:45 p.m. The game kicks off at 3.
