MSU Gets Ready to Play Vandy

By Angela Hatton

Murray, KY – The Murray State University Racers Men's Basketball team is headed to San Jose, California this Thursday for the first round of the NCAA tournament. At last night's bracket announcement, players heard that they will face Vanderbilt University for the chance to advance to the second round. MSU Coach Billy Kennedy says the Racers are the underdogs in this matchup.

"I really admire Coach Stallings and the job that they do there. And really look at him as a mentor, and it's going to be a challenge. We're going to play a very good team."

This is the 14th time MSU has made it to the NCAA tournament, and the first since 2006. The winner of Thursday's game goes on to play either University of Texas El Paso or Indiana's Butler University.
