A motorcyclist has died after a driver who had fallen asleep at the wheel struck him on a McCracken County road.

According to McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, 55-year-old James Duncan of Kevil was driving his motorcycle eastbound on Blandville Road. 24-year-old Andrew Davidson of Wickliffe was driving westbound.

Davidson says he fell asleep and crossed the centerline causing the vehicles to collide. Duncan was thrown from the motorcycle.

He was transported to Baptist Health Paducah where he later died from his injuries. Davidson was uninjured.

An investigation is ongoing.
