More Strong Storms Moving Through Region Thursday Afternoon and Evening

NOAA Paducah, weather.gov

Afternoon update:

This afternoon's storms have moved out of our listening area but flooding remains a concern, with a flash flood warning still in effect for Trigg, Todd and Christian County until 5.

A severe thunderstorm watch is still in effect until 8.

Much of the same weather from today is in the forecast again tomorrow.

The National Weather Service says there's a line of storms moving across the region this afternoon, creating 50-60 mile per hour winds and torrential rainfall. Some communities will see as much as 1 inch of rain within a 20 minute period. Flash flooding is also possible.

Highs climb into the lower 90s, with the heat index between 100 and 105 degrees.

Similar weather is expected tomorrow. Otherwise partly sunny, hot and humid with highs near 90. A 30 percent chance of storms tomorrow night, lows in the low 70s.
