More snow hits the region

By Rebecca Feldhaus

Paducah, KY – Another winter storm warning blankets much of the region this evening. The warning areas stretch from Poplar Bluff, Missouri east to Hopkinsville. The National Weather Service predicts only 4 to 6 inches of snow this time, with a shorter precipitation window. Meteorologist Kelly Hooper says wind is going to be an issue.

"And then we expect the winds to really get going. It will start out West and then become West, Northwest at about 15 to 20 miles an hour with gusts of 30 which should be common Tuesday afternoon especially."

The warning takes effect this evening at 6. Heavy and wet snow is already falling in some areas, and will pick up overnight. Kentucky Department of Highway's crews have pretreated most routes and will continue to work through the storm.
