Montgomery County's Lifelines Registry

By Chris Taylor

Clarksville, TN – Montgomery County, Tennessee is beginning an effort to register its elderly and disabled so they can receive aid in the event of a tornado or ice storm. The Lifelines Registry is a pilot program for the state and will help emergency personnel know where and in what condition people are in if a mass emergency or disaster occurs. The Clarksville Leaf Chronicle reports the county is home to some 40,000 disabled people, but not all will need to sign up. Officials urge the elderly and disabled to make emergency plans with friends or family as well.
