Clarksville, TN – Montgomery County, Tennessee Commissioners hope a new Animal Control regulation passed yesterday will help end dog's suffering across the county. They approved a resolution to require dogs not be chained to a fixed object for longer than half an hour. The county already has regulations for chaining dogs, requiring food, water, adequate shelter, and no nearby obstacles to tangle up in. The Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle reports there is an exception to the fixed-point restriction ordinance: using a swiveling in-ground cable which allows 360-degrees of movement. The measure passed with a 14 to 7 vote, and many who voted against it agreed with its intent, but found it intrusive to residents.
