Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Daniel Mongiardo says he has raised more than 420 thousand dollars to help finance his campaign for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Jim Bunning. Mongiardo announced the fundraising total today in advance of a report that he will file with the Federal Election Commission next week. The democratic challenger says the contributions came in the final six weeks of the reporting period that ended March 31. Bunning, a two-term Republican, hasn't yet released his fundraising total for the first quarter. He said last week that his fundraising has been "lousy" thus far.
