Mixed Racer Results against APSU
By Todd Hatton
Murray, KY – The Murray State Racers saw a solid win by the women's team and a heartbreaking loss by the men's team against Austin Peay State University at the Regional Special Events Center Saturday night.
The Racers held a slight lead until the Governors scored with just over 10 seconds remaining. A scoring attempt failed with 3 seconds remaining and the Racers were unable to score on the rebound, falling 57 to 58 and breaking an 11 game home winning streak.
The women's team fared better, with 3 twenty point scorers leading MSU's charge past the Lady Govs to win 87 to 77 Saturday. The Lady Govs had been ahead of the Racers in the OVC Conference.
Both the men's and women's teams return to the road for games against Jacksonville State Thursday night.
