Kentucky Transportation Cabinet secretary Mike Hancock resigned Thursday.
Gov. Matt Bevin then named deputy secretary Greg Thomas as acting head of the KYTC. Thomas was appointed by Bevinjust last month in the deputy role.
Thomas previously served as vice president of electric distribution for utilities company LG&E and KU Energy.
KYTC spokesman Ryan Watts says the cabinet couldn’t comment on the circumstances behind Hancock’s resignation, save to say his job was a non-merit position. Hancock had served in the post since August 2009.
