Mike Cherry to File Storm-Related Bill
By Jacque Day
Princeton, KY – State. Rep. Mike Cherry, a Princeton Democrat, wants to give schools in storm-ravaged parts of the state a break on instructional days this year. Cherry says he's planning to file a bill this week that would allow schools to meet a minimum 167 instructional days this year. Currently, schools are required to have a minimum of 177 school days. Cherry says, he doesn't want to push the school year abnormally forward into June.
