Mid-Continent Board Will Discuss Campus Sale Potential at Tuesday Meeting

Mid-Continent University's board of trustees meets Tuesday to discuss the potential sale of the school’s campus, as a June 30 end-of-instruction date looms.

Board chair Tom Butler says though the university’s final commencement took place last month, some students are still completing classes through MCU's accelerated degree program.

Butler said that beyond June 30, there are several options for the campus and they will all be discussed at Tuesday’s meeting.

“Is there anybody who would be interested in acquiring that campus? Is there a chance that we might eventually go back into business?" Butler said. "All those questions that have come up, we’ll talk about them and see what kind of answers we can come up with.”

Mid-Continent is working with Murray State University, University of the Cumberlands and Campbellsville University on teach-out agreements for the students affected by MCU's closure.
