Metropolis, IL – A rope and wiring manufacturer plans to open up shop in Metropolis, Illinois. Marcal Rope and Rigging proposes to buy a 3-and-a-half acre tract in the mostly unoccupied industrial park. The company plans to build a steel building and relocate its Olmsted facility there, which will produce wire and synthetic ropes for heavy industrial applications. The Paducah Sun reports Marcal hopes to have the operation up and running by June.
