Paducah, KY – McCracken County Jailer Bill Adams is expected to ask the fiscal court tonight for permission to begin a construction project adding on a 130-bed annex to the Regional Jail. 410 prisoners are currently housed in the building, which reached capacity at 342. Adams plans to use the annex for low-risk inmates involved in work programs. The addition would also allow the county to reinstate a work-release program. According to the Paducah Sun, if all goes smoothly, the add-on will be open in early 2011.
