Current County Coroner Dan Sims won the Democratic primary for jailer with 73% of the vote, while Ray received just 7%. Ray has beenindicted for both perjury and for violating Kentucky’s Whistleblower laws by firing deputy jailer David Knight.

She has since given Knight his job back. He won the Republican primary for jailer with 62% of the votes on Tuesday. The county Fiscal Court held in April a vote of ‘No Confidence’ in Ray and asked that she resign.
