Paducah, KY – McCracken County officials expect to hire a new emergency management director by the end of next week. Current interim director Bob Wise is set to retire September 12. A screening committee has recommended two of the 19 applicants who applied for the position. The Paducah Sun reports interviews may take place during a fiscal court workshop scheduled on September 9. Wise has been filling in for Bob McGowan, who was dismissed earlier this summer for refusing to give up his job as chief of the Concord Volunteer Fire Department.
