Paducah, KY – Prices for natural and propane gas will be lower this winter for western Kentucky residents. The Paducah Sun reports that the price for natural gas fell 71 percent since last year on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Since the summer was so mild, fewer natural gas turbines were needed for air conditioners. Since less gas was burned, it was easier for suppliers to store inventories for the winter months. Prices could slip to as low as $1.25 per gallon for heating gas.
