Lexington Lawyer Considers Senate Race

Frankfort, KY – A familiar name in Kentucky retailing could end up on the election ballot next year. Richard Dawahare spent 28 years in his family's clothing business and said Monday he is considering seeking the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate next year. The 53-year-old Lexington Lawyer said he has always had an interest in public service and is exploring a number of options, including the Senate race. He will compete with several other democrats for the seat including Lt. Gov. Daniel Mongiardo and possibly Attorney General Jack Conway and State Auditor Crit Luallen.
