Men who want prescriptions for erectile dysfunction medicine will have to clear some hurdles under a bill filed in the General Assembly. Louisville Democratic Representative Mary Lou Marzian says her bill is in reaction to the handful of anti-abortion measures that the legislature is currently considering.
“It’s inappropriate and ridiculous to have one abortion bill after another and it’s all political, it’s all politicized and it’s taking votes on the backs of women," Marzian says.
The bill would require men to have two meetings with a doctor before receiving a prescription for products like Viagra. Men would also be required to make a sworn statement that they will only use the drug while having sexual relations with their current spouse.
Governor Bevin has already signed an “informed consent” abortion bill into law. It would require women to have a face-to-face or video conference meeting with a doctor 24 hours before the procedure.
