Former National Forest System Ranger Tina Tilley is Land Between the Lakes new Area Supervisor. Tilley replaces Bill Lisowsky who retired at the end of 2012.

Before coming to LBL, Tilley worked in the National Forest System as a district ranger in North Carolina. She has also worked as an information specialist at the Tonto National Forest in Arizona.

Tilley will supervise resource management, environmental education and outdoor recreation for the more than 170,000 acres at Land Between the Lakes.

“I am excited to become a part of such a unique place within the Forest Service,” Tilley said. “My goal is to build relationships and partnerships with the people in the community, so we can work together and continue to improve the management of the area’s resources.”

In her free time, the University of Tennessee graduate enjoys fishing, landscaping and working with Habitat for Humanity.

Whitney grew up listening to Car Talk to and from her family’s beach vacation each year, but it wasn’t until a friend introduced her to This American Life that radio really grabbed her attention. She is a recent graduate from Union University in Jackson, Tenn., where she studied journalism. When she’s not at WKMS, you can find her working on her backyard compost pile and garden, getting lost on her bicycle or crocheting one massive blanket.
