Murray, KY – Kentucky has increased its education ranking in a national survey. The Commonwealth jumped from number 34 to number 14 in this year's "Quality Counts" issue of Education Week focusing on preschool through 12th grade. The report weighs states on policy efforts as well as outcomes and tracks key indicators. In addition, the report assigns overall letter grades based on average scores in six categories. Kentucky's overall grade this year was a C-plus, up from a C, the national average over the past two years. Maryland received a B-plus, the highest grade in the nation.
