Kentucky bourbon production hit a nearly 50-year high last year. An industry group says the state’s distilleries filled nearly 1.9 million bourbon barrels last year, the highest level since 1967.

The Kentucky Distillers’ Association says more than 6.6 million barrels are aging in warehouses dotting the landscape in the state’s bourbon country, the most since 1974.

KDA President Eric Gregory says production should keep rising, with a handful of larger distilleries starting production later in the year, with more scheduled to open in a year or two.

Rob Canning is a native of Murray, KY, a 2015 TV Production grad of Murray State. At MSU, he served as team captain of the Murray State Rowing Club. Rob's goal is to become a screenwriter, film director or producer and looks to the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie for inspiration. He appreciates good music, mainly favoring British rock n' roll, and approves of anything with Jack White's name on it. When not studying, rowing or writing, Rob enjoys spending his free time with a book or guitar.
