Frankfort, KY – A bill aimed at cracking down on the problem of teenagers sending nude photos via cell phones or online has taken a step back in the Kentucky General Assembly. The measure was sent back to the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday after lingering in the full Senate for a couple of days without being brought up.
Senate Majority Floor Leader Robert Stivers says some Senate Republicans thought the punishment in the bill was too lenient. The bill would allow judges to fine minors $100 and order them to perform community service for a first offense of sharing sexually explicit photos or videos by cell phone or online. The Judiciary Committee is scheduled to meet today.
