Attorney General Andy Beshear’s Office is providing more than $700,000 to substance abuse treatment facilities statewide to combat Kentucky’s opioid drug epidemic.

Much of the money is going to Recovery Kentucky, a residential substance abuse and addiction recovery program with at least one men’s and women’s facility in each congressional district.

The program has 16 centers including men’s facilities in Owensboro and Paducah and women’s facilities in Henderson and Hopkinsville.

Each facility can house up to 100 clients. The new state budget appropriates funds recovered from the Purdue Pharma settlement case to 15 different recovery facilities and drug treatment centers.

Rob Canning is a native of Murray, KY, a 2015 TV Production grad of Murray State. At MSU, he served as team captain of the Murray State Rowing Club. Rob's goal is to become a screenwriter, film director or producer and looks to the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie for inspiration. He appreciates good music, mainly favoring British rock n' roll, and approves of anything with Jack White's name on it. When not studying, rowing or writing, Rob enjoys spending his free time with a book or guitar.
