KY Ag Commissioner Urges Thanks for Farmers

By AP

Frankfort, KY – Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer is urging Kentuckians to show their gratitude for the farmers who fill the nation's fridges. Farmer also says it's especially appropriate during a time of year known for bountiful meals. Kentucky farmers produced a record $4.7 billion worth of crops and livestock in 2008, contributing significantly to the nation's agricultural production that he called the most abundant and affordable food supply in the world.
