A new study finds Kentucky and Tennessee as two of the unhappiest states in the country.
Research by financial resource Wallethub ranks Kentucky the fifth most despondent, with Tennessee just behind at number six. (The chart reflects overall happiness rankings, with Utah at number one.)
Criteria of the study includes:
- Emotional and physical well-being
- Work life
- Community, environment and recreational activities
Kentucky ranked 50th in well-being, 33rd in work life and 40th in activities. The commonwealth also sees the highest prevalence of depression nationwide.
