Some Kentucky State Parks in the Region See Increased Attendance

Kentucky State Parks (parks.ky.gov)

A few state parks in our region are seeing increased attendance rates this summer season.

Both the Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park and Kentucky Dam Village report year-over-year gains compared to last summer’s numbers.

Pennyrile Business Manager David Smith says activities across the board have been booming.

“We’ve had a very healthy increase over last year and that is due in large part to our beach reopening,” Smith said.

“There’ve been several Saturdays and Sundays where we’ve had 350-400 people.”

Smith says lodge occupancy rates have also increased.

The park will hold its 60th anniversary celebration next week.

Reports from Kenlake State Resort Park and Kentucky Dam Village weren't immediately available.
