Kentucky Congressmen Honor Marshall Co. Victims on House Floor

via Rep. James Comer, YouTube

Kentucky's delegation in the U.S. House of Representatives paid respects on the floor Monday to the victims of the Marshall County shooting.

Congressman Comer of Kentucky's 1st District recalled the events that took place last Tuesday morning and commended the community response. Marshall County is in Comer's district.

"In the aftermath of the devastation, a vast network of spirited, compassionate students and alumni have united to support and further strengthen the tight-knit, resilient community of Marshall County," he said.

Comer said the Kentucky delegation expresses gratitude for the educators and first responders for their acts of bravery and efficiency in handling the situation.

"We pray for the survivors who are continuing to recover from their injuries, and we remember Preston Cope and Bailey Holt whose young lives were cut tragically short, as well as their families and friends left behind," Comer said, before leading the House in a moment of silence.
