Kentucky Child Safety Contingent Upon Parental Involvement
By Stu Johnson
Lexington, KY – A Centers for Disease Control report released Wednesday seeks to prevent childhood injuries through more parental involvement. By exercising more caution especially on the roadways, University of Kentucky injury prevention specialist Susan Pollack says, parents can better protect their children. "We're losing an average of two a week to motor vehicle deaths alone so the issue is we have so many kids dying if we had kids dying of methicillin resistant staph (MRSA) in that numbers, people would be just clamoring for a solution," Pollack said. Pollack also says part of the answer lies in properly securing young passengers with seat belts and car seats.
