Kentuckians Face Diverse Barriers To Improving Health, Poll Shows

Kentucky adults with lower incomes were more likely to report difficulty in making a positive health change, according to a poll released Monday.

The Kentucky Health Issues Poll shows 71 percent of those earning less than 200 percent of the federal poverty line reported believing it would be difficult to improve their health.

About 1 in 10 Kentucky adults say they can’t afford to make healthful changes because they can’t afford healthy food or the cost of health insurance.

The most reported barrier to improving health was time, with about 2 in 10 respondents saying they either didn't have enough time or were too busy to make changes regarding their health.
