Cadiz, KY – A circuit judge has stayed an alcohol referendum in Trigg County. Officials had planned to announce a date for the vote, which could have sent the Montgomery precinct back to "dry" status. Trigg County residents voted narrowly to repeal prohibition last September. Judge C. A. Woodall had said the precinct could hold a referendum without waiting three years between votes. Pro-alcohol group Grow Trigg filed the appeal. Woodall issued a stay on the referendum today and ordered the case sent to the appeals court.
