Benton, KY – A Marshall County judge has given a convicted child rapist the maximum jury-recommended sentence. Fifty-one year old Mark Rapone will serve a life sentence without the possibility of parole for 25 years. A jury convicted Rapone as a persistent felony in December 2009 for raping a Marshall County four-year-old. The Kentucky Attorney General's Office of Special Prosecution handled the case after a request from the local Commonwealth's Attorney.
