Illinois/Missouri Driver's Licenses Still Accepted at Airports

Air travelers from Illinois and Missouri can still use their driver’s licenses as valid identification at airports, though that was set to change Sunday.

The Department of Homeland Security announced Friday that it is delaying the deadline for states to meet new federal ID guidelines to January of 2018.  The regulations are part of theDepartment of Homeland Security’s 2013 REAL ID Act.

Tennessee was the only state in our area to have met the previous deadline. There are 33 states and territories that have yet to create fully compliant licenses, including Kentucky.
