Murray, KY – Last fall WKMS and The Paducah Life Magazine initiated the This I Believe Writing Project. Next week we will distribute cash awards provided by Paducah Life to writers whose works were selected by our judge, Dr. Cynthia Gayman of the Murray State University department of English and Philosophy. Here's one of the essays she prized for its authenticity.
Stan of Cadiz is one of the writers whose work was selected in our This I Believe Writing Project. Everyone's invited to a reception recognizing This I Believe writers next Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Maiden Alley Cinema off Broadway near the Riverfront in Downtown Paducah. We will have an open mic for anyone who would like to offer a brief statement of belief, and refreshments by Artisan Kitchen. Following the reception Maiden Alley screens the documentary "Garrison Keillor: The man on the radio in the red shoes" at 7 p.m.
