The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close the eastbound I-24 exit ramp in Cadiz for several days.
The closure is to allow for road crews to perform concrete repairs and grinding along the heavily-traveled ramp at Exit 65.
The closure starts Tuesday, Oct. 6 and is expected to last about four days. A marked detour will be in place.
The work is part of an ongoing rehabilitation project to repair concrete pavement along I-24 from the 72 mile marker in Christian County through Trigg and Caldwell counties to the 45 mile marker in Lyon County. The contractor is using a foam injection system to level settled concrete pavement along this section.
Westate Construction, Inc., of Hopkinsville is the prime contractor on this $12,341,697 highway improvement project. The work is expected to continue until mid-November, or as long as weather allows this fall. If required, the contractor will resume work in the Spring.
