Hopkinsville Police say a new synthetic drug circulating in the area causes serious medical complications for its users.
Since last week, there has been a sharp increase in use of the drug that’s believed to be man-made or marijuana laced with an unknown substance.
Users have shown signs similar to psychotic episodes, and are often lethargic and appear to be going in and out of consciousness. They can even display uncontrollable aggression.
This past weekend, the Jennie Stuart Medical Center reported about a dozen potential cases.
The Hopkinsville Police Department is currently investigating the drug’s source.
