Hopkinsville, KY – The Hopkinsville City Council yesterday unanimously voted to drop its lawsuit against AT&T. The legal dispute stems from a municipal franchising disagreement between the two over AT&T's plan to offer Cable TV over its phone lines. The Kentucky New Era reports a compromise between the city and the telecom will allow AT&T to begin offering coverage to a limited area, expanding it gradually; instead of initially requiring it to serve all of Hopkinsville. AT&T is required to open a local customer service center there.
