Hopkinsville Community College Selects Jay Allen as New Head

Kentucky Community and Technical College System

Dr. Jay Allen, Ph.D, has been named the next president of Hopkinsville Community College.

The HCC Board announced Allen's hiring Friday.

Allen has 18 years experience as a community college administrator and has served as vice president of the Perkinston Campus and George County Center of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College system since 2011.

The HCC Board of Directors spent two days studying and interviewing four potential candidates and unanimously recommended Allen.

Dr. Patrick Lake will continue leading college operations as interim president the rest of the year. Allen begins his appointment January 1st, 2014.

Rob Canning is a native of Murray, KY, a 2015 TV Production grad of Murray State. At MSU, he served as team captain of the Murray State Rowing Club. Rob's goal is to become a screenwriter, film director or producer and looks to the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie for inspiration. He appreciates good music, mainly favoring British rock n' roll, and approves of anything with Jack White's name on it. When not studying, rowing or writing, Rob enjoys spending his free time with a book or guitar.
