Hopkinsville Community College is the recipient of a two-hundred-thousand-dollar National Science Foundation grant. The funds go toward the Technological Education for the Rural Community project or TERC. HCC math instructor and principal investigator Sherry McCormack says the grant will specifically fund relevant math and engineering coursework designed to provide context to the manufacturing industry.

“We are excited to have this opportunity with the National Science Foundation and that they see the value in the work that HCC is doing,” stated HCC President Jay Allen. “The Pennyrile region is fortunate to have a strong manufacturing industry. We want to help those businesses be successful by graduating highly trained students with the skills employers need.”

This is the first grant of its kind awarded to HCC.
