Henry County's Imagination Library Seeks Funds

By Chris Taylor

Paris, TN – About half of Henry County, Tennessee's kids under five years old receive a free book in the mail every month from the Imagination Library. It's a program co-funded by the state and local sponsors, costing the county about $1,200 a month. As more children are signed up, costs have outpaced donations. The Paris-Henry County Literacy Council is stepping up efforts to promote and financially support it. According to the Paris Post Intelligencer, the council's goal is to get a thousand residents in the county to donate at least five dollars a month by signing a bank draft, which either draws funds monthly or gives an amount as a one-time gift.
