HCC asks for no cuts

By Rebecca Feldhaus

Hopkinsville, KY – Hopkinsville Community College President Dr. James Selbe wants legislators to be kind this session. Selbe's comments came at this morning's state of the school address. The college President is hoping legislators will spare the community college system when repairing a 1.5 billion budget shortfall. Selbe told the Kentucky New Era his school is busting at the seams due to enrollment growth and funding cuts would prevent the school from moving forward. Representative John Tilley of Hopkinsville says legislators will try to protect the community college system, but Selbe has valid concerns.
