HCC Allied Health Building
By Angela Hatton
Hopkinsville, KY – Hopkinsville Community College officials are hoping for over twenty million dollars from the state to construct an Allied Health building and program on the campus. HCC Chief Academic Officer Dr. Kris Williams believes the program would bring in a larger student body because Allied Health offers a wide range of job options. Williams says now the college only offers nursing programs. Last year HCC lost over a hundred students to other programs with more diversified health field options. The project has been on the school's agenda for two years now and Williams doesn't know when state government will address their request. Although, she says, Governor Beshear has supported HCC in public speeches and comments.
